Do you believe that the universe has meaning?
See, the thing is, when you look at things from a realistic point of view, life is very ambiguous. There is so much uncertainty in our universe. If there is a meaning to the universe, we humans will never know. We can't know. There is so much that we don't know. So, in a way, it's safe to say that the universe has no identifiable meaning.
Humans constantly try to find meaning in a seemingly meaningless life. They try to find a true meaning for why they are all living. I believe that there is no one true meaning. That there is what there is. There is nothing more and nothing less. A lot of people aren't okay with that.
There may not be one true meaning to the existence of human kind and the universe. But one thing for sure is that meaning varies from person to person. Every individual gives life their own meaning. It may not be the "true meaning", but it is still meaning. It is value. It keeps people going.
I believe that the reason why others believe in a higher power is because they can't accept the fact that this universe has no identifiable meaning. They believe that the higher power is what gives meaning to the universe. I feel like those people are simply avoiding the truth because it's painful.
Who knows, right? But if you stop focusing on the general meaning, and you focus instead on what meaning you decide to give to your own existence, things don't seem that bad.

My Top 10 Favourite Shows
Here are my top 10 favourite shows/anime and their opening credits with a vague description from Wikipedia. (Some of these are only for a specific season, so I've picked my favourite.) They are not in order, by the way.
1- MERLIN
Merlin is a young wizard who arrives in the kingdom of Camelot after his mother arranges for him to stay with the court physician, Gaius. He discovers that the king, Uther Pendragon, has outlawed magic and imprisoned the last Dragon deep under the kingdom. The Dragon tells Merlin that he plays an important role: to protect Uther's son, Arthur, who will bring forth a great kingdom. When Merlin meets Arthur, he believes that he is an arrogant bully and Arthur, likewise, has a less than stellar opinion of Merlin. But when Uther's actions cause his ward Morgana to turn against Camelot, Merlin must ally himself with the Once and Future King to save the kingdom of Albion.
2- SHERLOCK
Sherlock is a British television crime drama that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. Sherlock depicts "consulting detective" Holmes, assisting the Metropolitan Police Service, primarily DI Greg Lestrade, in solving various crimes. Holmes is assisted by his flatmate, Dr John Watson, who has returned from military service in Afghanistan. Although the series depicts a variety of crimes and perpetrators, Holmes' conflict with his arch nemesis Jim Moriarty is a recurring feature.
3- DOCTOR WHO
Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord—a time travelling, humanoid alien known as the Doctor. He explores the universe in his 'TARDIS', a sentient, telepathic time-and-space-travel machine that flies through the time vortex. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, a common sight in Britain in 1963, when the series first aired. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor faces a variety of foes while working to save civilisations, help ordinary people, and right wrongs.
4- THE BIG BANG THEORY
The show is centered on five characters: roommates Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, two physicists employed at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); Penny, a waitress and aspiring actress who lives across the hall; and Leonard and Sheldon's equally geeky and socially awkward friends and co-workers, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali.
5- HOUSE M.D.
House (also known as House, M.D.) is an American television medical drama. The show's main character is Dr. Gregory House, a drug-addicted, unconventional, misanthropic medical genius who leads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH) in New Jersey. House often clashes with his fellow physicians, including his own diagnostic team, because many of his hypotheses about patients′ illnesses are based on subtle or controversial insights.
6- CRIMINAL MINDS
Criminal Minds is an American police procedural television program. The series follows a team of profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) based in Quantico, Virginia. The BAU is part of the FBI National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime. The show differs from many procedural dramas by focusing on profiling the criminal, rather than the crime itself.
7- KUROSHITSUJI
The series follows Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler who is bound by a supernatural contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the thirteen-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble family and the business-savvy owner of the Funtom company, a toy manufacturer. In return, when Sebastian has helped Ciel finish all of his tasks, including avenging his parents' deaths, Sebastian will be allowed to kill him and consume his soul.
8- AO NO EXORCIST
The story revolves around Rin Okumura, a teenager possessing abnormal strength and endurance who, along with his younger twin brother Yukio, was raised by Father Shiro Fujimoto. One day, Rin learns that he is the son of Satan, the strongest of all demons. Witnessing Shiro dying to protect him, Rin ends up doing what his guardian asked him never to do: draw the demon-slaying blade Kurikara, which restrains his demonic powers, from its scabbard. From that moment on, Rin not only gains permanent demonic features like fangs, pointed ears, fiery "horns" and a tail, but also the power to ignite himself into blue flames that can destroy almost anything they touch.
9- URABOKU
Sakurai Yuki is a teenager with a mysterious power. He was abandoned at birth near the Asahi orphanage. Because of that event, Yuki strives for independence. He hates being a burden to anyone near him, but at the same time, he is afraid of being left alone. Moreover, ever since he can remember, he has had a strange ability that when he touches others, he can feel their emotion. Unable to control it, he's often made insensitive blunders in the past. He later meets a mysterious yet beautiful stranger who saves his life, but for some reason he feels like he's met before. While death looms and his ability gets stronger and stronger, a man who claims to be his older brother suddenly appears. What will Yuki do when he learns the truth?
10- JUNJOU ROMANTICA

That Nice Feeling
Hello, fellow human!
It's pretty difficult to start writing about nothing in particular. This is why I have assigned a nice little topic for this post. How exciting!
But before we dive into a deep ocean abyss of thought... I'd like to point out that this is my blog! MY blog. Therefore, anything written on this blog is... uhm.. anyways. I lost my train of thought. I write the way I talk. Deal with it.
So, if you're human, it means you communicate in some way. I'm guessing that all animals communicate in some way. If you're human, you also have all these other things, but see.. you know people. I'm pretty sure that every person on Earth knows at least one other person besides themselves. It just goes like that. I don't think it's possible for a person to not know any other person in this huge and overly populated planet, other than themselves.
Some people are emotionally close to other people and some people barely know each other. Humans have got all sorts of connections that they have given names to. There are friends, family, partners, acquaintances. In those categories are tons more. Close friends, best friends, just friends, father, mother, cousins, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, dates, co-workers, godfathers, godmothers, grandparents, and the list goes on and on.
Some people matter more than others. Everyone has opinions. I believe that everyone has opinions about others. I also believe that everyone has their own personal opinion about themselves.
With all these opinions, we have emotions. There are so many different feelings we can experience. But this isn't about that. This is about how we see ourselves in society. How we believe that others see us. We have all grown up with different expectations and beliefs. Some of us never learned to distinguish between right and wrong and in-between as a child. Between good and bad and okay.
This is why real life is not so defined. Do you know what I mean? It's all about perception. It's not a math problem, although many of us, including myself, wish that it was. Life is like a highly personalized and specialized operating system. You are the superuser. This system has no boundaries. Everyone runs the same command at birth, and from there, the program starts to specialize itself and starts to form different categories of thought and feeling. I don't know much about programs, by the way! But I'm guessing that since some systems are running different data and files, they might not be compatible. It goes on and on until death. Maybe this is just a tutorial. Maybe this is a test, and death is actually birth. I'm just rambling.
So many feelings surround us.. but this post is about that nice feeling. Do you know of this feeling? It's so nice!
Story time!
About a month ago, I was sitting on the bleachers at the park, looking up at the beautiful night sky. A few of my friends were at the park that day. We were all grouped in one area. I was upset that day. I had been having a lot of arguments with my boyfriend.
I was sitting all the way at the top, in the far corner. The stars looked really pretty. I was staring up, wishing I could be in outer space, when a girl that I knew from high school ( and Facebook ) sat a few feet away from me. She was with her boyfriend. They were chatting, too.
The fact that they were sitting in close proximity made me feel strange. I kept on staring at the little dipper, pretending not to hear their conversation. It was hard not to, though. They weren't that far from me, and the park was mostly quiet.
The boyfriend asked the girl if she knew who I was.
What I heard, I did not expect to hear.
She said that she did know who I was. She said that I was awesome, and that I liked amazing music. She said that I was really intelligent and that I knew how to crochet cool things. She told him that I was a really nice person and that I was studying medicine.
I froze.
'What!?' was my only thought. Then it hit me. Those things she said sounded so genuine. So real. It made me so happy. It gave me that nice feeling.
The thing that shook me the most was the fact that she was telling this to someone else. If she would've told this to me, I wouldn't have believed her. But she told this to her boyfriend. Why would she lie?
We all perceive reality differently. Some of us perceive ourselves very negatively. But hearing something like this, is one of the things about life that makes it worthwhile. All this pressure that some of us put on ourselves, it feels like it never stops. Even though it's so hard to believe, and some of us may not even believe it, it feels so nice when someone talks good about us. No matter how much we deny it, no matter how many times we tell ourselves that we are not good enough, it's always nice to hear someone tell us that we are good enough, and that they wish we could see that in ourselves.
That's the nice feeling.
